Commission & Satisfaction Policy

Maison Maan Atelier Last updated: June 2026

Our Promise

At Maison Maan Atelier, every piece is made to commission — conceived, constructed, and refined specifically for you. Because each garment is a bespoke work, the process is collaborative by nature. We do not offer standard returns or exchanges. What we offer instead is something more considered: our commitment to work with you until the piece is right.

We do not stop until you are satisfied.

1. The Commission Process

All Maison Maan pieces are made to order. No two commissions are identical. The process unfolds in the following stages:

Stage 1 — Enquiry & Consultation You submit an enquiry via our website or contact us directly. We will respond within 5 business days to schedule a consultation — in person (Mumbai) or via video call.

During consultation, we discuss the piece, the occasion (if any), your vision, and the design direction. This is the beginning of the conversation.

Stage 2 — Confirmation & Deposit Following consultation, we send a written commission summary confirming:

  • The piece selected or designed
  • The total price agreed
  • The estimated timeline
  • The deposit amount due

A commission is formally confirmed only upon receipt of the 60% deposit (see Section 3). Work does not begin until the deposit is received.

Stage 3 — Measurements Once the deposit is confirmed, we schedule a measurement session — in person (Mumbai) or via our detailed self-measurement guide with video guidance for international clients.

Stage 4 — Construction The piece is constructed over the agreed timeline (typically 6–10 weeks depending on the complexity of the work). You will receive progress updates at key milestones.

Stage 5 — First Fitting You attend a first fitting in person or, for international clients, via a fitting session using a muslin toile (a test garment in your exact measurements). This is the point at which adjustments are identified.

The remaining 40% balance is due at this stage, before final alterations begin.

Stage 6 — Revisions & Completion We make all agreed alterations following the fitting. Further fittings are scheduled as needed. We work until the piece is correct — this is our commitment to you.

Stage 7 — Collection or Delivery The completed piece is collected from our atelier or delivered via secure courier (international deliveries are the client’s responsibility for customs duties and import taxes).

2. Timelines

Estimated lead times are provided at the point of commission confirmation. Typical timelines are:

Piece Estimated Lead Time
SAMMA 6–8 weeks
TAAQ 8–10 weeks
TEH 7–9 weeks
Bespoke design Discussed at consultation

Timelines are estimates. We will communicate any delays as soon as they are known. Maison Maan Atelier is not liable for delays caused by factors outside our reasonable control (e.g., fabric supply, international shipping, force majeure).

3. Payment Structure

All prices are confirmed in writing at the time of commission.

Deposit (due at confirmation): 60% of total commission value Balance (due at first fitting): 40% of total commission value

Payments may be made via bank transfer, UPI, or other methods agreed in writing. Full payment details will be provided in the commission confirmation email.

All prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise agreed. For international clients, equivalent amounts in agreed currency will be confirmed in writing.

4. No Refund Policy

Because each Maison Maan piece is made entirely to your measurements and specifications, we are unable to offer refunds once the commission has been confirmed and the deposit received.

The deposit is non-refundable in the event of client cancellation after commission confirmation.

This policy exists because:

  • Materials are procured specifically for your commission
  • Construction begins immediately after measurements
  • The piece cannot be resold or repurposed for another client

We understand this requires trust. In return, we commit to the satisfaction guarantee described in Section 5.

5. Our Satisfaction Commitment

We do not accept that a piece is complete until you are genuinely satisfied with it.

This commitment covers:

  • Fit: If the garment does not fit correctly after the first fitting, we will make all necessary alterations at no additional cost
  • Construction: Any issue arising from our construction (seams, finishing, embellishment) will be corrected at no charge
  • Revisions: We will work through as many fittings and alterations as are needed to achieve the correct result

This commitment does not cover:

  • Changes to the original design brief after construction has begun (these may be accommodated at an additional cost, discussed openly)
  • Damage caused after delivery
  • Changes in the client’s measurements after the measurement session (alterations for significant size changes may incur an additional fee)
  • Subjective preference changes unrelated to fit or construction quality

If at any point you have a concern about the piece, we ask that you communicate it to us directly and promptly. Early communication allows us to resolve issues most effectively.

6. Cancellation Policy

Cancelled by the client before measurements: The deposit is non-refundable. However, we will offer a credit of 30% of the total commission value to be applied to a future commission within 12 months.

Cancelled by the client after measurements but before first fitting: The full 60% deposit is forfeited. No further amount is owed.

Cancelled by the client after first fitting: The full commission value (100%) remains payable, as construction is substantially or fully complete at this stage.

Cancelled by Maison Maan Atelier: In the unlikely event that we must cancel a commission (due to circumstances beyond our control), the full deposit will be refunded within 14 business days.

7. Care & Maintenance

Upon delivery, each piece is accompanied by care instructions specific to the materials used. Maison Maan Atelier accepts no responsibility for damage arising from:

  • Failure to follow care instructions
  • Improper storage
  • Dry-cleaning by non-specialist providers
  • Alterations made by third parties after delivery

We recommend specialist couture dry-cleaning only.

8. Intellectual Property of Commissioned Pieces

Maison Maan Atelier retains the right to photograph and document all commissioned pieces for portfolio, editorial, and archival purposes, unless the client expressly requests otherwise in writing at the time of commission.

Client identity will not be disclosed without express consent.

9. Dispute Resolution

We hope that open communication will resolve any concern. In the event of a dispute, we ask that you contact us first at maanatelierindia@gmail.com. We commit to responding within 5 business days with a proposed resolution.

If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be referred to the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, in accordance with Indian law.
